RF Patisserie is a beautiful looking cafe located in Bolton (Greater Manchester) on Halliwell Road, offering exquisite looking Patisserie’s, cakes, Afternoon Tea, Pasta, as well as a variety of Brunch, Food and Dessert options. Before dining, we checked as to where RF source all Meat & Chicken from. I can confirm that everything is purchased from an HMC Certified store Alhamdulillah so no worries! RF’s menu (which we have pictures of below) is diverse and unique in the sense that it will make you step out of your comfort zone to try different options. I can honestly say that you won’t be disappointed in my experience. It’s not completely unique where you would think that you are in the wrong place and don’t know what to order, they do normal dishes however they have a slight twist to it. Keep reading, to find out more!

RF Patisserie began way back in October 2017, with only certain handcrafted desserts being available to buy in a box of 4 each week. They were super popular and enjoyable ordered from people not only in Bolton but surrounding towns also. The Pastry Chef behind RF, initially took orders and created her masterpieces at home. The Patisseries were so popular that Alhamdullilah she has now ventured out and created a gem in the heart of Bolton! Words cannot tell you how relieved I am. You will know why once you read my food review!

The Place is beautiful! They have really changed the place up (it used to be cube quite some time ago). The walls (which you will see below) are adorned with colourful flowers throughout the place, cascading down one of the walls along with ceiling flowers and I must say they are beautiful and perfect for pictures! The main counter is so exciting with all of their delights on display.

RF has a Luxurious feel and that continues to upstairs. There is a prayer room available which Alhamdullilah makes life so much easier and is really pretty. There is also a really nice bathroom which I always appreciate because who wants to leave with messy hands or go to an awful bathroom! There is a waiting area which I personally loved and took lots of pictures!

There is also a swing with flowers from the ceiling down and a neon sign which is so cute!! Just so you know RF are cash only but there is a cash machine just a few minutes away.

I absolutely love the flooring in the place as they have gone for an elegant tile design that just fits in perfectly. Throughout the place there is gold decor right down to the spoons!

I love the artwork on the wall by the counter and the little touches.

The Team – Everyone at RF were super friendly and keen to ensure we were happy and managed the whole place really well. I must say I haven’t felt that comfortable anywhere in a long time.
THe FOOD
So here’s what really matters and let me tell you that you will not be disappointed in sha Allah.
You can tell that RF has put care and attention to detail in all of the lovely creative dishes. The hard work has surely pulled off! To make things even better Alhamdullilah everything is sourced from a HMC certified butchers.

C&C Roll – In house marinated sesame crispy chicken with jalapeños, spicy mayo, salad served on a soft seeded baguette topped with sesame seeds. This has been quite popular and recommended to me by friends.

I found it rather unusual with a unique flavour. We all had different reactions due to the combination but my mum fell in love with this. I personally am not that into jalapenos
Shakshuka – This was such a lovely brunch item and nothing like I have had elsewhere. I loved that it came in a pan as it added that novelty factor. There was plenty to share which was great. I loved this!

Beef Sliders – 3 juicy homemade beefy patties served topped with cheese, chutney, salad and brioche buns. I absolutely love sliders because they’re cute and fit into my hands perfectly.

The beef was cooked perfectly with a pink look and they were super succulent. They were quite meaty but personally I enjoyed that! I must warn you to be careful as I ended up with the cheese, grease and some sauce everywhere so be warned it can get messy!! I would most definitely recommend these sliders as they are delicious and perfect for sharing. Alternatively, you could go for Afternoon tea as the sliders are included but I am yet to get to try the Afternoon Tea.

Afternoon TEA

Ever since RF opened we’ve wanted to try everything on the menu but we can only eat so much of their yummy food. But the day has finally come and we tried their delicious afternoon tea (£24) which exceeded our expectations!
One of our favourite things on the afternoon tea was the scones that are baked fresh in house and come with Clotted cream and Rasberry conserve. They were some of the nices scones we’ve had and I’d definitely go back for more just because they are that good.
You get a delicious selection of desserts which is great because you get to try different things and that is RF patisseries speciality. We had the lotus Biscoff cheesecake which was so good. We were all left wanting more because we love Biscoff. There was a yummy slice of chocolate cake which was super rich and a slice of vanilla sponge cake covered in a strawberry jam which was yummy. Finally, there was a fruit tart which had lots of fresh cream and delicious kiwi.
You also get chicken tenders with a dipping hey were really sauce (so you may want to try the beef if you want a mixture). The tenders are full of flavour and they were really popular.
The Cheese and tomato croissants were really interesting as it isn’t something I would usually opt for but it tasted lovely.
Finally, it comes with mini savouries, for us, this was delicious pastries.

The afternoon tea is East meets West inspired and they definitely did a good job. The menu says it serves 2 but 4 of us shared it along with some pasta and we still had some left so the portion size is incredible.
Food-wise it includes sliders, the menu says beef but you can switch them for chicken (either grilled or fried) if you want to. I personally get a mix so one of each and cut them in half even though they are small. I have to say all the sliders are delicious, I love that the beef sliders are cooked to perfection (slightly pink on the inside so they aren’t over cooked).

Chicken Rigatoni (£7.00) – RF has made a secret tomato and lemon sauce, basil and garlic flavoured pasta which is yummy and topped with their succulent fried chicken strips. This was such a random combination but it went surprisingly well.

Fries (£2.00) – These were yummy with a nice and the portion was really generous.
The Desserts
YOU MUST get some dessert! They are so yummy. Check out the fridge before you order so you can see their fresh massive cake slices and their unique desserts.

RF Brioche French Toast (£6.50) – This combination of milk chocolate, caramelised banana, salted caramel, hazelnut crumble and vanilla ice-cream is AMAZING! It was so perfect that I can’t even describe it. It was super filling and I struggled to finish it but this is definitely one of my favourites.

Chocolate Churros (£4.50) – Golden brown and made to perfection with just enough crisp. They are rolled in sugared cinnamon and come served with warm Belgian-chocolate. They were amazing and took me by surprise cause good churros are hard to find. I would definitely recommend trying these!

Berry Gateau – This took me back to the days of ordering my boxes at RF! A combination of milk chocolate mousse, chocolate crispy pearls and a berry compote centre with an almond biscuit base. this tasted really nice, it was a combination of a chocolate torte along with a sharp raspberry flavour in the centre.

Berry Biscoff Ice Over (£5.50) – So Lotus is my FAVOURITE biscuit so this was amazing. IT was a cheesecake with a Lotus base and garnished with a Lotus spread and fresh berries

The Drinks

Cherry and Lime Mocktail (£4.00) – So I have never had Cherry Mojito before and it was really surprising. It wasn’t that zesty but rather super sweet. I loved the colour of it but trying to have it along with dessert was difficult but I enjoyed it. I love the glasses!

Mocha (£2.70) & Chaii (£2.80) – I really found these drinks refreshing especially the chaii as it had that real homemade vibe!
The verdict
RF Patisseries is a beautiful cafe that has been decorated really well. The place has a real luxurious feel in each and every way. Alhamdullilah the food is just as good. RF is just what Bolton needed, somewhere you can feel really at peace and have lovely food. The desserts are amazing and different from your regular dessert place with more of a fine dining feel. Everything is made fresh which is great. I would definitely recommend the Sliders and the Shakshuka. I would also say you need to try the Churros and French toast. Do let me know if you try anything else as I will be visiting regularly! The best part is that they have a prayer room and do not play music. A great thank you to all the staff for being so lovely and congratulations to RF Patisseries on the amazing success.

Asm akm.
The opening times are incorrect.
Additionally the savouries are not served in the afternoons or if RF are busy.
Sadly my family and i were left disappointed as at 4.30pm we were told savouries are not being served.
We were told by the staff that to be served savouries it is better to come on a week day (i am sure the customer has the right to come when it is best for them).
Hi how mich is your afternoon tea and what times is it available?
Hello Wahida
Afternoon tea costs £24 & It’s available the same time as brunch, So all day weekdays and until 4.30 weekends.
Do they cater for Gluten Free allergies?
Hi Zeinab
RF Patisserie doesn’t have a Gluten Free Menu but the will be able to make something for you on request & have done this for other customers.
I have celiac disease and cannot have anything containing or contaminated with wheat products. I would like to visit with my friends and wondered what you could make for me.
Would I beable to have a burger without the bun (does the burger contains any flour products to bind it?) Also are your chips fried separately from other breaded items?
Please list what products you can make? Thank you.
